EMBL - European Bioinformatics Institute

Practical completion has been achieved for the £17m EMBL-European Bioinformatics Institute's (EBI) Technical Hub at the Wellcome Trust Genome Campus, Hinxton. This new BBSRC-funded building provides additional space and training facilities for the EBI. It will also host the ELIXIR project hub - the new European research infrastructure for life science data.

Beginning in 2009, this was Abell Nepp's first commission, progressing from feasibility and government funding stages through to design and construction.

A formal opening involving UK and European dignitaries will be held in October.
